Faith for the Heart: Living by the Grace of Romans
While our church begins celebrating its 150th Anniversary this year, churches worldwide will celebrate the 500th Anniversary of the Reformation – when Martin Luther helped us reclaim the gospel distinctives of Scripture. Those distinctives were based on understanding that we are saved, “by Grace alone, through Faith alone, in Christ alone, as taught in Scripture alone.” No portion of Scripture influenced Reformation leaders more than the book of Romans, the Apostle Paul’s great summary of the entire Bible for new Jewish and Gentile believers in the ancient world’s greatest city. We will look at this “Bible in a Book” in coming months not only to celebrate our heritage, but also to remind ourselves what it means to live by faith in a world of challenge.
